IT IS SO GOOD TO BE BACK ON THIS COMPUTER!!!! I've only been in a box for eight days, but it was a very long 8 days. I'm a confrmed addict. We made it. Can I get an Amen????? Slight problems arose, but God was on our side and we triumphed! First of all, we made one last stop at the Fearing's house on the way out of town to drop off some borrowed items. We said our goodbyes and were just about to get back in the car when we realized that that there was a large amount of liquid pouring out from the front of the car. Uhhhhhh, problem. It was pronounced undrivable and a tow truck was called.
How many toes could a tow truck tow
if a tow truck could tow toes?
if a tow truck could tow toes?
Sorry, I'm so ADD. :-) Anyways, this presented a major problem since we had to be in Oklahoma at eight the next morning for an unalterable appointment, and we had no car. After a phone conference with dad (already up in OK), the realtor, and the insurance people, we decided to borrow the Fearing's Suburban and drive up in that. By the time we got everything worked out, ate dinner, loaded the Suburban up and headed out of town for good, we didn't make it to the hotel up here till 2 in the morning. Ugggghhh.
Hours later we awoke, dragged ourselves out of bed and headed off to breakfast, where we found our next problem. In a momentary lapse of attention (bad news when you're operating a deadly vehicle) dear Mother ran the borrowed Suburban into the back of Dad's car. Great. Shows the Fearing's what they get for helping people! A smashed front end. Ironically, Dad's minivan received only a small dent. Grrrrrr.
Other than that, we're here safe and sound. The 53' truck is all unloaded (ha! you should've seen the mover's faces when they saw that baby), now all we have to do is unpack all these confounded boxes. Ha!
We are also without water till Thursday, but comparitively it's the easiest utility to be without. Just think, if we didn't have electricity I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET ON HERE TILL THURSDAY!!!!! AGGGGHHH!!!!!! Showers are a problem....
The Lord has been good to us. Just think, we could've been in the middle of no-where when the car went kapoot, and then we would've been stranded with no phone and no way to get help. It didn't start smoking till well after the transmission fluid started flowing, so it could've been damaged worse. *sigh*
God bless!
