Pretty impressed with myself....

lol. This was a haphazard three hour endeavor. I set out with no plan at all and let the story make itself up....warning. Very cheesy rhymes.

Cinderella was a lie
I found the evidence
Of her scheme to rule the land
By marrying the prince

She found a job as a serving maid
To a wealthy lady of the court
She used errand days as a cover-up
To slip into the king’s fort.

She spied on nobles and officials there
Silent as a cat
She gathered facts on everything
But nobody noticed that.

One day while she studied stolen papers
Ella discovered a terrible threat
Two daughters of that very house
Were weaving their own deadly net

Their positions on committees in the court
Would give them the power to promote
New generals to mobilize the entire army
To storm the castle moat.

With the royal family safely locked away,
Cinderella’s chance would be lost
And if the duchesses discovered her plot
Her life would be the cost

So Ella decided to change her plans
And strike that very night.
She’d dance with the prince at the costume ball
And whisk him out of sight.

And when they were alone together
She planned to stab him in the heart,
Then bundle up the prince’s body
And silently depart.

She’d leave a note at the castle gate
Declaring they planned to marry
She’d stamp it with his signet ring
And then the body bury.

With weeks gone by she’d reappear
From the honeymoon dressed in black
She’d tell the world of her husband’s death
In a secluded woodland shack.

She’d forge a marriage document
To prove what she said was true
The people would crown her their widow queen
And her problems would be few.

The hour was now growing very late
Ella hurried to find a gown
With shoes of glass and a blade of steel
She set her lips into a frown.

Everything went according to plan:
When it was Ella’s turn to dance,
She smiled up at the unsuspecting prince
And out the door they did prance.

She looked into his hazel eyes
And tightened her grip on the blade
A moment of hesitation
Was the only mistake she made.

In an instant he glimpsed the glittering knife
And knocked it from her grip.
In her panic she tried to run away
But her glass shoe caused her to slip.

The prince broke into a run
And almost got away
But Ella threw her shoe at him
And on the ground he lay.

The glass had broken on his head,
The blow cost him his life
Ella frantically abandoned
Pretending to be his wife.

She could hear the sound of pounding feet
The soldiers had heard the fight
She disappeared over the garden wall
And hurried out of sight.

In her hurry to escape
Ella dropped the other shoe
And there it lay on the garden floor
A single deadly clue.

The soldiers went from house to house
To find a foot that fit,
But Ella was nowhere to be found
The finally had to admit.

Ella was never seen again
But as the years went by
The false fairy tale was spread around
I cannot tell you why.

I agree, the rhymes are cheesy, but the story is good! Only you would set out to make Cinderella bad.
