Recently we had our Choir Christmas Concert. Compared to concerts past, it actually seemed subdued, if one of these concerts can be subdued in any way. I had my own special little challenges, meaning my right ear totally ceased functioning. There must be a terrific amount of was blockage in there. I was amazed at how little I could hear just using the left ear, and it made our ensemble pieces especially difficult, as the monitor was to my right.

My experimental rubbing alcohol and peroxide sloshing between rehearsal and concert time resulted in temporary return of hearing which quickly settled into a small amount of hearing from the right side. :-)

Afterwards we went to IHOP for our traditional late-night party. This guy my friends and I had never seen before, I suppose he was a friend of a friend or something, came over to Melody and said "My name is Elliott," then got down on one knee and proposed to her. The waitress got so excited, she slammed the water pitcher down on the very edge of the table, quite close to spilling all over me, and gave this humongous gasp and rushed out of the room. It was most likely the funniest thing I have seen in a while...

We got back to Carolyn's house at almost 2am, and there was no party left in any of us. So we went to sleep. Later that day I ate calamari.

Calamari is squid.

You had no party left in you, some of us talked for quite some time after you were asleep.

Squid sounds like something I don't want to try, even if it tastes like shrimp.
