Some events in life are just randonimity and chaos. When you think of them later you suddenly find yourself unable to stop laughing.

The choir met early this morning to ride the bus across town to the Ambassador's choir festival, resplendent in our new matching choir t-shirts. The purpose of these t-shirts is to make sure that no one got lost. Not to worry. One might secretly wish for an uglier shade of periwinkle, but one would be disappointed.

Rehearsal went alright. One of the director ladies was really fearsome. Besides us, there was the Langston University chorus and six high schools, and in the evening the Ambassadors joined us, maybe 350-400 total. You have no idea what it is like to put that many people on one weird stage.

That night, after very little choral rehearsal and no physical on and off sort of rehearsal, we did our little concert. The first half was each choir performing one selected piece. It was fun to hear the different styles and sounds of each one.

How we sounded as a mass group, I have no idea. The stage was as long as a football stadium so the people on the other end of the stage could've been having a disco party for all I know.

One thing that amazed me was the reactions of people in our choir to the sanctuary. Sorry, bad sentence. People asked me why they had a piano AND an organ - don't they do the same thing? Seriously. They thought the mirror on the organ was so that the organist could put lipstick on between hymns. Really. Not knowing what the big chairs on the stage were for I could forgive. But still.

The coolest part of the night was when all 400 of us shouted TWO THREE FOUR HUT TWO THREE
