ACT

Acquisition of Certain Things?
Australian Council of Trade?
Additional Copies of Trouble?

Nope - "Trick the Colleges into Acceptance."
We'll just rearrange a few letters.
Yes, trick them into thinking
they're really accepting a smart person! :-O

Took the ACT today for the second time this morning. I was glad I already had my nerve-wracking first time experience over with. If that's in any way an advantage, I'll take it. Haha.

The English, my highest scoring section last spring, was a surprising struggle. Maybe my brain wasn't quite awake yet, I don't know, or maybe I had copped myself out and convinced myself I didn't have to hurry quite as much. Any way I finished three seconds before time and had to skim, not really think, the last eight questions or so. IKKK.

The math was pretty much the same as last time - I had a great idea of what to expect which was a relief and a help. I still don't think I did marvelously, but maybe I'll at least keep the score I had last spring. YAY FOR PROGRAMMED CALCULATORS.

The reading comprehension and science reasoning I believe will be my biggest score improvements, if there are any. At least I felt the best about those two. The passages in reading comprehension were really quite delightful and I enjoyed them very much. Especially the one about paper use.

I tried a new strategy on faking my way through the science, and it seemed to work quite well. I say faking because I never have the slightest clue what they are talking about [curses upon anyone who ever swung a pendulum or heated any sort of metal. They should be punished] and only have to try and figure out what the graphs and charts are saying as best I can. I am so pressed for time I have no time to even read the overviews of the experiments and such, they must be skipped. We'll see what the score difference is.

For all my "experience" I was still very nervous coming into the test room. My foot was tapping tapping tapping - as silently as possible - and I repressed the urge to jump in and out of my seat. Let me interject here how much I detest those little desks with attached plastic chairs. By the time I was halfway through the English portion I had a very large headache and painful cramping right at the base of my neck, both of which stuck around for the duration of the morning. Ah, stress.

I mentioned the reading comprehension passages a little while ago - can anyone tell me what the heck that first one was about? We were reading about a lovely astronaut taking a trip to space but all of a sudden there's a random alien lady who isn't from Earth and it traveling around to search for animals on other planets. ????

As always, now I have to wait three whole weeks to get that dratted score. ::fingers crossed::

I'm *really* looking forward to the SAT next Saturday *sarcasm*

Toe tapping tension, especially involving taking much more time than it should. The PSAT took as long as when I was doing practice SATs at home, so the SAT is going to be a PAIN!

Did you know I don't get my PSAT scores until December? After I've taken the SAT. Pleasant. *growls*
