Safely, and indeed having acquired many adventuresome stories to tell. I wrote an accumulated fifteen or twenty pages in my journal about the week, so you won't get to hear everything (you really wouldn't want to....trust me), but I shall throw in some interesting bits, if you care to hear.
I shall start off first with the unavoidable YouTube video. :-) It is a video of Kristin Chenoweth singing a song she wrote for a Broadway play she starred in....or something remotely like that. I don't know. My friends and I heard this song our first night at camp and we ran around all week squeaking "Taylor the latte boy loves meeeee!!!!" :-)
Overall, this camp was absolutely fantastic. The speakers and worship leaders were amazing!!!!! Our morning speaker was David Player, a local pastor originally from South Africa. Actually his accent sounded (to me) mostly Australian, but I don't know anything, so we'll go with South African. Our evening speaker was Alex Roller, a former youth pastor from California. His keynotes were extremely engaging and well put together, plus he was hilarious.
However my favorite was definitely Kyle Cantrell, our Worship Leader. I LOVE YOU KYLE!!!!!!
I spent most of the week's free time swimming in a cricket infested pool and sleeping, after I discovered the hazards of the more popular hike up Devil's Canyon. There is a large wooden cross at the top and I thought to myself as I started up the path "won't it be nice to just sit once we get up there and do some reflecting as I look out over the valley..." This pastoral vision was interrupted by reality as the "path" turned into an almost forty-five degree scramble up mossy boulders. My more athletic companions raced on ahead of me and as we reached the top the peaceful silence was broken by the sound of more than a dozen campers talking not quietly on their phones, more than happy to take advantage of the only place in camp that got cell service. :-)
Late night activities were pretty enjoyable. I had to ask myself a few times why anybody in their right minds would want to be running around throwing eggs at each other in the middle of the night, but whatever. The first night we played all the gross nasty teamwork games - yes, this includes throwing eggs at the other teams. Sound fun? It is, especially the part where it gets in your eyes and mouth and on the seat of your pants. :-)
The second night we basically just hung out with cappuccinos and hot chocolate. Yum. Thursday (the third night) was the Western Dance Party, and this is where you insert the groan. I love ballet. I love ballroom. I love jazz. I love lyrical. But I cannot do the sort of dancing they do at this sort of thing and it's never good for people to be seen near me whilst I attempt to! :-)
The last night was swim-and-play-volleyball-and-eat-too-much-ice-cream night. It was pretty sad because of course nobody wants to go home (well that's not exactly true but I never want to), but we managed to enjoy the night anyways. :-) I can honestly say this camp was amazing - and when people ask me if I'm coming back next year, the answer is you betcha!

Very nice. I was going to comment yesterday but the computer froze up like it does and so I didn't get to.
