I'm home

When I think of all the interesting (what a versatile adjective) things that happened on my trip, I think the traveling itself was pretty interesting. We got lost so many times I might as well not try and list the number of times! Okay, it wasn't that bad, but it is kind of sad to totally lose 259 in Henderson. I know how we did it, I just know. It was veering off trying to escape the creepy guy blaring his horn at us in the middle of nowhere...:-)

I got the unexpected chance to go to CYF with Courtney on Wednesday, which was really wonderful. I guess they expect me to just pop in every three weeks! It was almost as fun introducing Courtney to all my church friends as it was spending hours later discussing our opinions of them all. :-) First impressions are so funny. You wonder why Courtney had such different opinions than I...

So for the main reason I went: Nick's graduation. We spent a lot of Saturday setting up, of course. Putting up chairs, setting out the booths and games and prizes, picking up the rental stuff, decorating, and my contribution: tying weights onto exactly 480 helium filled balloons. I counted. :-) It rained, of course, and we were really worried, but it didn't manage to spoil much of anything from what I could tell. Thank the Lord! Part of the day was also spent perusing the mall in search of graduation gifts. It was a pretty dismal search, if you have ever been to That Mall. :-) I was quite pleased with the results, however.

Mrs. Traylor videoed of course, and we watched the tapes that night after almost everyone had gone home (Ross, Peter, Steffen and Aarin stayed the night) and I was so embarrassed I nearly had a heart attack. My gosh I was so terrible on that dumb film. Don't show it to anybody!!!! Please!!!!!! It did have one redeeming quality: it showed me dunking Nick on the second try. :-D

After the video we all sat around doing pretty much nothing while stuffing ourselves with nachos and leftover cake (we were trying to save the Reese's cleanup time, really). I got all the scraped-off icing - white, blue, red, and lime green - and mixed it up till I had some really neat shades. What did I proceed to do? I built a 3-d map of Narnia, of course, entirely of frosting. It had swirled mountains, a river, trees, everything. :-)

One evening we went to Marble Slab which is divinity in itself, yet we followed it up with more divinity: The Lake House. I can't believe I have never seen that movie until now!!!!! IT IS AMAZING!!!!! My mother doesn't believe that Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are in a PG rated movie but they are and it is a really really really good movie. All this was after we unsuccessfully scoured every movie store in town for the Love Letter, which by the way I have found. CLICK HERE

It was a really good week. We had some very interesting conversations, mowed some lawns, did a fair amount of shopping, stayed up "late" pretty much every night, and had more interesting affairs on the highway going home. I will miss ya'll more then ever now, but never fear, it is somewhat likely that I'll end up down there sometime in the next century. :-)

You Are My Sunshine
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away

The other nite, dear,
As I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms.
When I awoke, dear,
I was mistaken
And I hung my head and cried.
