Today we tramped downtown for the I suppose annual arts festival. I love art festivals, for anyone who cares, and I quite enjoyed this one. We saw a potter at work, a comedian, belly dancing, live music, exotic food, and some wonderful pieces of art.
There was this one photograph of two young men (they looked like Tibetan monks) that was amazing. I would so totally hang it in my bedroom, but everyone who walked in would ask who those people were and it might be kind of funny. On the flip side, it would really be shallow if I would refrain from displaying a piece of art in my private bedroom that I enjoy just because other people might think it's weird.
There were some cool glass sculptures and artistic furniture, but my favorite were the paintings. Favorite booth? It's a tie. The first had these gorgeous and realistic oil on canvas paintings, mostly of wine and fruit in dusty libraries. When it comes to art, I go for the realistic rather than abstract. The second was the work of a Chinese artist. It was mostly landscapes and nature subjects painted with a knife on wood. Mr. Liang also writes poetry and inscribes it in Chinese calligraphy beneath the paintings. Neat.

Belly dancing? :)
JCP, I can think of plenty of things that you... used to do just for the shock value. ;)
I liked all the jewelry booths at the art festival (because, as you know, I absolutely love jewelry)! I did not, however, like the belly dancing ;(
