Ridiculous lawsuits

Some of the absolutely ridiculous lawsuits filed and passed:

1. The owner of an apartment complex sued the family of a college student who'd just died for not giving 30 day's notice.

2. A man sued a golf course for $30,000 because while playng golf one day, a ball he'd just hit ricocheted off a lampost and broke his nose.

3. A man sued the owner of a house he had just robbed when the owner shot him in the behind. Filed as "making it uncomfortable to sit for long periods of time in jail."

4. A woman filed suit against Robert's Food because one of their snack foods, Pirates Booty, had made her fat, reason being that the package said a serving only contained 120 calories and 2.5 grams of fat, when an investigation showed it contained 147 calories and 8.5 grams of fat.

5. A man drowned in a whale tank at Sea World, Florida, while trying to swim with the whales. His parents filed suit against the park for not telling visitors that killer whales might kill you if you enter the water.

6. A junior league baseball coach was sued by the parent of his catcher for "poor coaching" after the team had a winless season, which cost the team a tournament trip to Orlando.

7. Louiseville Sluggers was sued for 1 million after an outfielder was hit on the head with a ball hit by one of their bats.

8. Two daughters of a woman undergoing surgery sued the hospital for emotional damage. Why? Something went wrong in the middle of the surgery and the mother had to be rushed to ICU. The girls were thrown into panic at seeing their mother rushed down the hall.

9. A UK singer is beign sued for copyright infringement because he included a song entitled "One Minute Silence" (a heart pumping track of 1 minute of full silence) in his latest CD. Apparently, another singer had a track of 4 1/2 minutes of silence. The singer said in his defence, "My silence is original, not like [his] silence."
