Fun Zone

This past week I was actually quite busy doing a couple of different fundraisers. I didn't get a whole lot of school done - yes, that is bad. Tuesday I demonstrated some party rental games. Most of the time I just sat and monitored a couple of toddler inflatables, but some of the time I did get to run around and play on everything. Let me tell you, that inflatable obstacle course was difficult. I guess it would help if I hadn't done it directly after the Euro Bounce, see the picture below. That was strenuous. It took a lot of concentration to keep myself jumping exactly vertical. Whew, talk about exercise. I did manage a good number of backflips, too, though they were not nearly as impressive as this other guy who was doing consecutive doubles and triples. :-) My only complaint: I received several very painful bruises from the harness.

The other one I really liked was the awesome Velcro Wall. Once you actually suit up and try it out, it's more fun than you think. Let me assert, however, that it is not fun trying to get into that suit. I think it would have perhaps worked out better if I'd tried a larger size.

Friday and Saturday our choir participated in this conference downtown. Our job was to sing in these worship services that incorporated liturgical and arts elements and music from all time periods. This included a very pitiful Hallelujah Chorus and the audience did not stand up!!!!! I have no idea what was going on there. I guess none of them knew they were supposed to stand. Wierd. Oh yes, and did I mention that there was only like 25 people in the audience? Maybe not even that many. It was... strange. Altogether I would have much preferred to do something else with all those hours, as they had several other choirs there, and we were really not needed whatsoever. As a plus, we did get to hear a cool jazz choir, a dramatic recitation of Acts 2, and a performance by Anita Bryant. Actually, I had never heard of her before they introduced her, but I enjoyed the song. I'm told I am of the wrong generation to know who she is.

This morning at church we were supposed to have a girl's luncheon after church, but there was a mistake in advertising and there was only like eight or ten of us. They were good sandwiches, though.

For all of ye who are unaware I did create that second blog, The Unpretentious Muse, which can be found in my links. :-)
