"If," by Bread
That song was one of our serenade songs at camp 1.5+ years ago. A rather touchy subject *wink wink at Emerald Lily*, tradition demanded we sing these specific songs to a group of mostly undeserving boys. Other songs included Sweetheart Tree, Let Me Call You Sweetheart, I See The Moon, and Yesterday. The boys songs included Daisy Daisy and some very odd song about sailors returning by the whiskey moon to see their sweethearts. There is a very definite pattern in the songs here. Moons and Sweethearts. Anyway, on to other, much more relevant, matters.

I hope you all had a very good and memorable New Year's. I spent the night with a friend and we made party hats and did a conga in the front yard at midnight. Awesomeness. We watched the 119th Tournament of Roses Parade all morning in hopes of seeing the Nacogdoches HS band and we did not see it, thanks to the lousy networks who do not show the entire parade. The ever helpful internet, however, came through for us and we got to see them there. Not great, but better than nothing.

This is ABC's coverage, by the way. If you wish to see the entire parade, I believe it can be found below.

New Year's Eve I watched three movies I had never seen before - National Treasure 2, Amazing Grace, and High School Musical 2. Three movies in one day is a lot to begin with, and three new movies was certainly a lot to digest. Amazing Grace was definitely the most solid story. Very nice acting and lovely cinematography.
NT2 had soooo many plot holes. The whole thing was just darn unbelievable. O well, it was still good. Nice to see the entire cast back. Ben's mother was a nice addition.
HSM2 was good as well, though much less good. :-) The basic lack of a plot was somewhat distracting, and the songs were random and stuck in odd places, but it came through like the first, incredibly cheesy and fun. Actually during the song "Bet On It," where Troy [Zac Efron] dances around the field, I almost fell off the couch I was laughing so hard - he looked ridiculous.
Gabriella [Vanessa Anne Hudgens] annoys me to no end, especially as Sharpay [Ashley Tisdale] by far the better singer and actress. I Don't Dance" was probably one of my favorite songs, and the fact that they were all dancing while they sang it added a wonderfully ironic touch. My favorite part? Absolutely 100% the song "Humuhumunukanukaapua'a." I scorn the girls swooning over Zac Efron. Baby, I LOVE Lucas Grabeel.
