Matthew 28: 1 - 6
"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for and angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.' "
Hallelujah! Jesus has won the final victory, he has conquered death! After the sobering Tenebrae Service Friday, the joy this morning was that much greater. I know you all (Spectre) are going to ask "What is Tenebrae?" so I am going to let Ken Collins explain [click on the link].
I might also mention that this everlasting fast is finally over and I can blog again YIPPEE!!!!!! It has been SO long that I forgot my login info and spent twenty minutes trying to access this thing. Like I'm ever doing this again.....no, no, I guess it was good for me. I reestablished the fact that life continues without blogger, but I missed my blog SO much!
Back to Easter. Friday at the Tenebrae service we saw Jesus being led to trial and later carried into our way cool styrofoam tomb. This morning, after the earthquake sound effect, Jesus emerged from the tomb and let me tell you, it was really really cool. Last year they had Jesus "hanging" on a cross outside for people to see on their way out - why didn't we do that this year, you ask? He was out there for an hour and was so frostbitten it took five men to get him down. Let's just say he didn't volunteer to do that again.
After Jesus came out of the tomb, we (small group of backup actors) came out behind him, one by one, wearing these scary black capes which Jesus lifted off and then we jumped around with varying levels of agility (depending on the youth factor of the person) and ran out to "spread the news." I had a terrific time, even though we had to stay through all three services, which wasn't all that bad when you factor in all the donuts and cheese cubes we got to eat. :-)
I was so nervous, which is weird, because I was never nervous at Lamp-Lite. *shrug* Several people said they liked the drama even better than the sermon, though we won't mention that to Reverend Gorrell. :-)
So, life goes on. Philip had his first birthday three weeks ago. Olivia had a little accident and knocked a couple of teeth loose, but she's fine now. I go to
At the end of the medley the girls are going to sing Out of my dreams and two couples get to waltz and you will never believe this, but I am one of those people. :-D I get to wear this poofy gown (which we haven't found yet) which pretty much totals up to a ridiculous number of costumes for a choir concert.
Let's see - oh yes! Dancing with the Stars. *evil grin* you didn't think you could escape it, did you???? This is my blog so if you choose to read it you may do so in silence. IMHO this is their best line-up yet. There isn't anyone who was so horrible you would have rather eaten a jalapeño than watched stumble through a hopeless mambo. There was one couple that was EXTREMELY annoying, but they got voted off so now I'm completely happy.
Here is the existing lineup in order of my preference with the two eliminated couples at the bottom. :-D
joey fatone (*nsync) and kym johnson
hmmm, my favorite guy last year was named joey - and fatone is dwts joey #3, preceded by joey mcintyre and joey lawrence. they are definitely my favorites. a little to fun loving, but really wonderful to watch. their tango to the star wars theme song was awesome. here is a link to the dance
julianne is only 18, but she's fantastic. and apolo is quite nice, which drastically improves my ratings of them. link to their quickstep
surprise surprise, the egotistical maks got a good partner. they don't take any risks, but laila's technique is excellent. they definitely have a shot at the finals. link to mambo
why nobody likes leeza I have no clue. i think she is sweet and elegant. though i have no desire to train with him (he is a very demanding instructor), i am definitely rooting for team gibbolani. link to foxtrot
ian is a passable dancer, but easily the least likable of all cheryl's partners. a little arrogant, you know? link to cha cha
okay, week one, they stunk. majorly. week two, they were so much improved it was a little scary. still a little iffy, mostly for the fact that i really would eat a jalapeño rather than watch that creep karina, but i really do like billy ray. unfortunately i can't find a link to the cha cha (the flop) so here is a link to their quickstep
poor edyta. her original partner, vincent pastore, decided that dwts was too physically demanding and quit. despite their lack of prep time, john is pretty darn good. not technically as good as apolo or laila, but the guy's sixty! link to their tango
i love jonathan! my enthusiasm for heather is less. i won't continue the madness by repeating the one fact that nobody is allowed to forget but you can look it up. she has done surprisingly well, but all teh hype is getting a little annoying :-P link to mambo
clyde, though he posses a charming smile and likable personality, really doesn't dance well and needs to be voted off as quickly as is humanly possible. link to cha cha

season one champ (though this fact is disputed) alec returns to be the first eliminated in a shocking show of injustice, almost equal to last seasons elimination of joey lawrence. he and paulina were adorable and paulina kept me laughing for hours. we weep for you, paulina! link to foxtrot. just stop it after the dance so you don't have to hear the harsh judge's commentary.
